CENTRAL POINT BUS DRIVER UPDATE

As some of you may know, Central Point School District opted to contract out their bus services a few months ago to First Student.  A suit has been filed against the district by one of the former bus drivers as a test of an Oregon law that we sponsored with regards to contracting out.  Simply put, the law states that contracting out may not occur if the only savings realized are salary and benefits of the released employees.  We believe that this was the only savings that Central Point will realize through their action.  A summary judgment hearing of the motion will be held on October 24th at 2PM.  The actual trial will be held on December 8th.
